This Los Angeles, CA resident discovered his Audi A6 missing about 3 a.m. on a Friday. Whether he was just arriving home after a night out, or woken up from a sound sleep, the fact that his car was not where he had left it must have been a shock. The LoJack® system he had installed when purchasing his A6 really came in handy; local law enforcement, assisted by LoJack, were able to recover his car in a little over four hours after activation.

On August 30th, 2013, the Audi’s owner contacted the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Norwalk Division to report that his vehicle was stolen. LACSD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the A6, which was installed at Rusnak Pasadena Audi in Pasadena, CA.

A short while later, officers from Long Beach Police picked up the homing signals from the Audi on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the vehicle to a hotel parking lot on Queens Way Drive. Further investigation by the officers resulted in the arrest of one suspect. The undamaged A6 was soon returned to its very happy owner.
