The San Juan Capistrano, CA resident in this case was shocked to discover his Dodge Charger was missing from his driveway early one Tuesday morning. His shock quickly turned to relief because his local law enforcement, assisted by the LoJack® system, recovered his vehicle in less than three and a half hours after activation.

On August 27th, 2013, the Dodge’s owner contacted the Orange County Sheriff’s Department (OCSD) to report that his vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Charger, which was installed at Rancho Chrysler in San Diego, CA.

A short while later, deputies from OCSD picked up the homing signals from the Dodge on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The deputies tracked the Charger to a driveway of a residence in San Juan Capistrano. A female at the location confessed she had driven the vehicle there, and was arrested. The Dodge’s owner was very happy to have his undamaged vehicle returned to him.
