It was surely a shock for the Sacramento, CA resident in this case when she woke up one Wednesday morning to find her Scion xB missing. Our victim got another surprise that day, but this was a great one- she knew that the LoJack® system she had installed when purchasing her car would help police locate and recover it, but, in this situation, results happened incredibly fast- in just five minutes after activation.

After the victim discovered her Scion had been stolen, she immediately contacted the Sacramento Police. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the California Stolen Vehicle System and the NCIC national system. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the xB, which was installed at Crown Toyota in Ontario, CA.

A very short time later, officers with the Sacramento PD began to receive the homing signal from the Scion on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the vehicle being driven near the intersection of Jimmy Pope and Hayes Streets. They stopped the car and arrested the male driver. The xB’s owner was thrilled to get her undamaged vehicle back in such a short time.
