The Toyota Corolla owners in this case were shocked to discover their vehicle missing one Sunday morning. It’s lucky for these victims that neither their local police nor the LoJack® system take weekends off and were able to recover the car in less than one half-hour after activation.

On August 25th, 2013, the Toyota’s owners contacted her local police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Corolla.

A short while later, officers picked up the homing signal from the Toyota on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their patrol unit. The officers observed the vehicle moving in the area of San Fernando Mission Road and El Cajon, and attempted to stop it. After a brief pursuit, the car stopped. The suspect attempted to escape but was eventually captured by a K-9 unit and taken into custody. The Corolla was soon returned to its very grateful owners.
