Late one Monday afternoon, a Honda Accord was stolen in Century, CA. Thanks to some great teamwork from a California air unit, the Inglewood, CA Police and the LoJack® system, the vehicle was recovered in just four hours and 15 minutes.

On July 29th, 2013, the Honda’s owner contacted the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to report his vehicle was stolen. LACSD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Accord, which was installed at Long Beach Honda in Long Beach, CA.

A short time later, a police air unit picked up the homing signals from the Honda on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their helicopter. The flight crew tracked the vehicle to 80th Street and Crenshaw Blvd. in Inglewood and requested back-up. Inglewood PD ground units were directed to the location. A suspect entered the parked Accord and was promptly arrested. The owner was very happy when his Honda was quickly returned to him.
