The LoJack® system helps police recover stolen vehicles fast- and in this particular case, extremely fast. A stolen Nissan 350 was tracked down by police assisted by LoJack in just five minutes after activation.

On July 30th, 2013, the Nissan’s owner contacted the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department- Highland Station to report that their vehicle was stolen. SBCSD Highland verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the 350, which was installed at Palm Springs Nissan in Palm Springs, CA.

A very short while later, San Bernardino Sheriff’s Central Station Deputies picked up the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Nissan was found traveling on Tippecanoe Avenue. Officers stopped the vehicle, found additional stolen property from other burglaries inside, and took the driver into custody. The 350’s owners were delighted that their vehicle was recovered quickly and without any damage.
