The Honda Civic owner in this case had a frightening experience while driving just after 2 a.m. one Monday morning- he was carjacked by three women. The LoJack® system helped to make this event a little less traumatic for the victim by helping police recover his car in less than 20 minutes after activation.

On July 29th, 2013, the Honda’s owner contacted the Madera Police Department to report that he had been the victim of a carjacking. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Civic, which was installed at Miller Honda in Van Nuys, CA.

A few minutes later, an officer from the Fresno PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer tracked the vehicle to Illinois Avenue in central Fresno. The occupants of the vehicle spotted the approaching police vehicle and quickly exited and ran. A female juvenile suspect was arrested for carjacking/robbery and possession of stolen property. The undamaged Civic was soon returned to its very relieved owner.
