In this case, a stolen Ford Ranger is recovered in just 10 minutes after activation, thanks to the LAPD and the LoJack® system.

On August 3rd, 2013, the Ford’s owners contacted the North Hollywood police to report that their vehicle was stolen. LAPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Ranger.

Just a few minutes, Mission police officers picked up the homing signal from the Ford on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their patrol units. The officers tracked the vehicle to the parking lot of a motel. After requesting backup, the officers saw the Ranger start to move and stopped it, taking the driver into custody. The truck was soon returned to its relieved owner.
