This Southern California resident ran into a bit of bad luck in Las Vegas when his 2013 Kia Forte was stolen. It’s a good thing he made a safe bet and had the LoJack® system installed when he bought his car less than four months before. That purchase really paid off when it enabled police to retrieve his car in just over an hour and a half after activation.

On August 5th, 2013, the Kia’s owner contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. After verifying the theft, officers entered the stolen vehicle information into the NCIC Stolen Vehicle System. This process automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Forte, which was installed at Kia of Cerritos, CA.

A short time later, officers with the LVMP began picking up the homing signal from the Kia on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their patrol car. They quickly located the Forte and returned it to its relieved owner.
