The San Diego, CA resident in this case had his Chevrolet Suburban stolen one Tuesday morning, and thanks to his local police working with the LoJack® system, his SUV was recovered well before dinnertime.

On July 30th, 2013, the Chevy’s owner contacted San Diego Police to report that his vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Suburban, which was installed at Quality Chevrolet in Escondido, CA.

A short time later, SDPD officers picked up homing signals from the Chevrolet on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the vehicle to a residential area on Mission Blvd. in San Diego, where the SUV was found parked and abandoned. The owner was very happy to get his undamaged Suburban back.
