The Philadelphia, PA resident in this case had a Lexus IS 300 stolen one Monday morning. Although this is quite a stressful event, our victim wasn’t upset for too long, because the car was recovered in just 75 minutes by local police assisted by the LoJack® system.

On August 5th, 2013, the owner of the Lexus called Philadelphia Police to report the incident. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle’s information into the Philadelphia Police Computer System and the Pennsylvania State Police Computer. This action automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the stolen IS 300, which was installed at Lexus of Cherry Hill in Mount Laurel, NJ.

A short while later, an officer assigned to the Philadelphia Police Homeland Security Division picked up the homing signal from the stolen car. The officer called for backup and tracked the vehicle to Kensington Avenue, where it was traveling with one occupant, and followed it to a service station. The suspect was arrested as he stepped outside to refuel the IS 300. The undamaged Lexus was quickly returned to its relieved owner.
