A 2009 Toyota Corolla is taken from the owner’s residence in El Cajon, CA in the wee hours of the morning, and recovered the same day thanks to local police and the LoJack® system.

On July 19th, 2013, the Toyota’s owner contacted the El Cajon Police to report his vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Corolla.

A short while later, deputies from San Diego County Sheriff’s Department picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The deputies tracked the Toyota to a commercial parking lot on Town Center Parkway in El Cajon, where it was found parked and abandoned. The owner was very happy to have his Corolla back in his possession.
