For most people, Monday is the toughest day of the week. The weekend is over, the work week has begun, and you probably could have used a little more sleep. The Toyota Tacoma owner in this case had a worse Monday than most people when she found out her vehicle was missing early that afternoon. Her local police and the LoJack® system surely improved her ‘manic Monday’ by recovering her car in just over two hours.

On July 22nd, 2013, the Toyota’s owner contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that her vehicle was stolen. SDPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Toyota, which was installed at Kearny Mesa Toyota in San Diego, CA.

A short while later, officers from San Diego PD picked up the homing signals from the Toyota on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the vehicle to a residential neighborhood in San Diego, where it was found parked and abandoned. The owner was very happy to have her undamaged Tacoma returned to her.
