This California resident found his 2012 Acura MDX missing from a downtown parking lot one Monday evening- talk about a scary feeling! Luckily, he didn’t have to feel scared for very long since the LoJack® system he had installed when buying his SUV helped local police recover his vehicle in less than a half hour after activation.

On July 15th, 2013, the Acura’s owner contacted Oakland Police, who verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle, which was installed at Pleasanton Automotive Co. in Pleasanton, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short time later, Oakland PD picked up the homing signals from the MDX on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Officers located the stolen car parked and abandoned on the street. The Acura was soon returned to its happy owner.
