The LoJack® system helps law enforcement recover stolen vehicles fast- sometimes incredibly fast, as in this case where a Nissan Pathfinder missing in Kern County, CA is found in only seven minutes after activation.

On May 20th, 2013, the Pathfinder’s owner contacted the Kern County Sheriff’s Department. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle’s information into the California Stolen Vehicle System as well as the national system, NCIC. This automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the vehicle, which was installed at Universal City Nissan in Los Angeles, CA.

A short while later, members of the Placer County Sheriff’s Department and the Auburn, CA Police began to receive the homing signal from the Nissan on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. They tracked the Pathfinder to the rear of a business near Hwy 49 and Airport Rd., where it was parked with a possible suspect inside. The officers contacted the Auto Theft Task Force, who arrived and arrested the suspect when she attempted to drive away.  The Nissan was soon returned to its very grateful owner.
