A Sacramento, CA resident has her Lexus 350 stolen from her residence one Friday morning. She made the unfortunate mistake of leaving her purse in the car with a set of keys inside. Luckily, she had the LoJack® system installed when purchasing her car, so her local law enforcement tracked it down in less than an hour after activation.

On July 18th, 2013, the victim contacted the Sacramento Police Department. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the California Stolen Vehicle System as well as the national system, NCIC. The LoJack unit concealed in the vehicle, which was installed at Lexus of Roseville, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, Sacramento Sheriff’s Department deputies began to receive the homing signal from the Lexus on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The deputies tracked the car to an industrial complex, and determined the signal was coming from a closed industrial garage. They found the 350 inside and arrested the owner of the property.  The undamaged Lexus was soon returned to its grateful owner.
