The Stockton, CA resident in this case woke up one Sunday morning to find her Mercedes SL6 missing from her driveway. Whether she had errands to run, family plans, or was just planning on enjoying a ‘lazy Sunday’, it’s sure that this situation ruined both her plans and her mood. Her local law enforcement, assisted by the LoJack® system, made the stress a little less intense by tracking her vehicle down well before lunchtime.

On July 7th, 2013, the victim contacted Stockton, CA Police. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the California Stolen Vehicle System as well as the national system, NCIC. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle, which was installed at Fletcher Jones Mercedes in Newport Beach, CA

A short while later, officers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Stockton Area and the San Joaquin Sheriff’s Department began to receive the homing signal from the Mercedes on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. They tracked the SL6 to the side storage area of a muffler shop. There were three individuals in the process of stripping the vehicle. All three suspects were arrested. The Mercedes was soon returned to its relieved owner.
