Police and law enforcement agencies around the world use the LoJack® system to track and recover stolen vehicles quickly, many times while the thief is still in the vehicle.  One way we here at LoJack know that the men and women of law enforcement approve of our product is when they purchase it for their own vehicles. In this case, a Honda Accord owned by a Deputy Sheriff is recovered on the Fourth of July.

On July 4th, 2013, the Honda’s owner called Claremont, CA Police to report that his car was missing. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the car, which was installed at Community Honda in Whittier, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short time later, a deputy from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department picked up the homing signal from the Accord on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. He located the Honda in a parking lot adjacent to a park. The driver and front passenger had exited. The officer took the rear passenger, who had a backpack belonging to the victim, as well as shaved keys and burglary tools, into custody. The Accord was soon returned to its grateful owner.
