In this case, a compressor stolen from a construction company in San Marcos, CA, is recovered by local law enforcement the same day, with help from the LoJack® system.

On May 23rd, 2013, a construction company employee contacted the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department- San Marcos Station to report that a 2013 Sullair Compressor was stolen from a construction site at Twin Oaks Valley Rd. and Borden Road in the city of San Marcos. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Sullair Compressor, which was installed at a large national equipment rental company.

A short while later, deputies from San Diego County Sheriff’s Department picked up the homing signals from the stolen machine on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The deputies tracked the compressor to a rural area behind a trailer park in Escondido.  The Sullair was soon returned to the construction site.
