We would bet that the last way this California resident wanted to start his weekend was to have someone steal his Ford Mustang from a store parking lot. Luckily, the LoJack® system was installed when he bought his car, so it only took an hour and a half for local law enforcement to track it down.

On June 21st, 2013, the Mustang’s owner contacted the El Cajon Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen.  El Cajon PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Ford, which was installed at Perry Ford in Poway, CA.

A short while later, deputies from San Diego County Sheriff’s Department picked up the homing signals from the stolen Ford on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The deputies tracked the Mustang to a residential area in El Cajon.  The deputies observed a suspect driving the stolen car. The Ford was stopped and the driver attempted to flee but was soon captured. The owner was very happy when his Mustang was recovered so quickly.
