The Oxnard, CA residents in this case had an even more manic Monday than usual when they found their Honda Accord missing that morning. Local law enforcement activated their car’s LoJack® system and tracked in down in a little over 90 minutes.

On July 1st, 2013, the Accord’s owners contacted the Oxnard Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. Oxnard PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Honda, which was installed at Riverside Metro Auto Group in Riverside, CA.

Oxnard PD officers picked up the homing signal from the Accord on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The stolen car was tracked to the area of Yucca and Saviers.  The officers called for backup, and stopped the Honda after a short pursuit. The suspect driver attempted to flee on foot but was soon taken into custody for both auto theft and drug charges. The Honda was soon returned to its very relieved owner.
