The LoJack® System Helps San Bernardino, California Sheriff Recover Stolen Honda Accord in 58 Minutes

When your vehicle is stolen, time is of the essence. The faster your car, truck, van or motorcycle is located, the less time the thief has to either damage it or take it further away. In this case, the LoJack® system helped law enforcement recover a Honda Accord in less than an hour after activation.

On June 25th, 2013, the Accord’s owner contacted the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Office to report their vehicle had been stolen. SBSO verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the vehicle, which was installed at Metro Honda in Montclair, CA.

A short while later, an SBSO deputy picked up the homing signal from the Honda on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. He tracked the signal to an open garage in a residential area and observed three males standing next to the vehicle.  The keys to the stolen car were found nearby. The suspect was identified and arrested, and the undamaged Accord was soon returned to its happy owner.
