In this case, a Nissan Pathfinder stolen on a Saturday afternoon is recovered by law enforcement, assisted by the LoJack® system in only nine minutes after activation. The Nissan is not the only thing police locate, though- they also discover a possible chop shop and take five suspects into custody.

On June 29th, 2013, the Pathfinder’s owners contacted the Pomona, CA Police report their vehicle had been stolen. Pomona PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the vehicle, which was installed at Santa Monica Nissan in Santa Monica, CA.

A short while later, an officer from Montclair PD picked up the homing signal from the Nissan on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer tracked the signal to an alley off Canoga, where he observed five men stripping the vehicle in a garage.  All five individuals were taken into custody without further incident and were booked for receiving stolen property.  The Pathfinder was soon returned to its relieved owners.
