The Philadelphia resident in our next case had his Toyota Camry taken as part of a frightening home invasion and robbery. Local law enforcement, with help from the LoJack® system, was able to retrieve the car in just 35 minutes after activation, hopefully bringing the victim a little relief on what was obviously a very terrible day.

On June 30th, 2013, two armed persons wearing face masks forced their way into a home in Philadelphia, tied up the resident with a cord and burglarized the residence. The perpetrators stole a large amount of cash and several valuable items, including the Toyota. The homeowner was able to free himself some time later and called Philadelphia Police.

Detectives verified the theft and entered the stolen vehicle information into the Philadelphia Police Computer System and the Pennsylvania State Police Computer. The LoJack device concealed in the Camry, which was installed at Enterprise Auto Sales in Lester, PA, was then automatically activated.

A short time later, officers from the Philadelphia Police South Division began to receive the homing signal from the Toyota on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the signal to the area of Grove Street, where the car was found parked and unoccupied. The Camry was returned to its very relieved owner.
