This Los Alamitos, CA resident had a bad end to their weekend when their Jeep Liberty was stolen late one Sunday night. It’s a good thing they chose to have the LoJack® system installed when they bought their car, so local law enforcement recovered it for them in less than a half hour after activation.

On June 16th, 2013, the Jeep’s owners contacted Los Alamitos Police to report their vehicle had been stolen. Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Liberty, which was installed at Long Beach Chrysler Jeep in Long Beach, CA.

A very short time later, law enforcement in numerous locations had picked up the moving LoJack signal.  Officers from the LAPD Southeast Division spotted the Jeep traveling northbound on Compton Ave, and followed until it stopped at a residence, where they took the male suspect into custody. The undamaged Liberty was soon returned to its very happy owners.
