A test drive became a test of patience for this San Diego, CA resident when a potential buyer for his 2009 Mercedes Benz ML350 took it for a ride and never returned. Lucky for our victim that there was a LoJack® system installed on his car, so local police were able to recover his car and take the suspect into custody.

On May 23rd, 2013, the ML350’s owner contacted San Diego, CA Police to report that his vehicle was stolen from his residence by a woman. SDPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Mercedes Benz, which was installed at Mercedes Benz of San Diego, CA.

A short while later, officers from SDPD picked up the homing signals from the Mercedes on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The officers tracked the vehicle to South 40th Street and Ocean View Blvd. in San Diego, and arrested the female suspect at the scene.  The ML350 was soon returned to its very grateful owner.
