The theft of their Acura MDX made it a tougher than usual Monday morning for these Philadelphia, PA residents. However, the LoJack® system they had installed when they purchased their SUV made things a little easier for local law enforcement, who tracked down the stolen Acura in only 35 minutes after activation.

On June 10th, 2013, the MDX’s owners discovered that their vehicle was stolen from Frontenac Street.  They called Philadelphia Police to report the incident. The assigned officer verified the theft and entered the Acura’s information into the Philadelphia Police Computer System and the Pennsylvania State Police Computer. This automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the car, which was installed at Sussman Acura in Jenkintown PA.

A short time later, a Philadelphia Police Highway Patrol Division officer received the homing signal from the Acura on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The MDX was pulled over and the suspect arrested. The undamaged Acura was soon returned to its grateful owner.
