In this case a BMW 328 is stolen just before lunchtime and recovered by local police, assisted by the LoJack® system, in just one hour and 15 minutes.

On March 23rd, 2013, the 328’s owners contacted the Oxnard, CA Police to report that their vehicle was stolen. Oxnard PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the BMW, which was installed at Assael BMW in Monrovia, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short time later, officers with both the Oxnard PD and Port Hueneme PD picked up the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the vehicle to the area of Dunbar and Irwin, where they found the car parked and abandoned. After a brief surveillance, a male was observed entering the 328. The suspect, who was in possession of drugs and stolen checks, was taken into custody, and the BMW was soon returned to its very happy owner.
