This Newport Beach, CA resident’s Saturday morning went from mellow to maddening when his Cadillac Escalade was stolen. We’re sure he was glad he had the LoJack® system installed when purchasing his car, because, with its help, local police were able to retrieve the Caddy in only one hour and 10 minutes after activation!

On June 1st, 2013, the Escalade’s owner contacted the Newport Beach, CA, Police to report that his vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Cadillac, which was installed at Desert Buick GMC Trucks in Las Vegas, NV.

A short while later, officers from Bell Gardens, CA Police picked up the homing signals from the Escalade on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The officers tracked the moving vehicle to the intersection of Pastoria and Eastern Avenue.  A traffic stop was made and the driver was arrested. The owner was very happy to have his Escalade returned undamaged.
