In this case, a San Diego, California resident wakes up to find his Lexus GS 300 missing from his residence. The victim was glad he had the LoJack® system installed so that local law enforcement was able to recover his car in only 96 minutes after activation.

On May 17th, 2013, the GS 300’s owner contacted the San Diego Police to report that his vehicle was stolen. SDPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into their state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Lexus, which was installed at Lexus Santa Monica in Santa Monica, CA.

In just a few minutes, SDPD officers up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The officers tracked the GS 300 to a parking lot on 55th Street in San Diego, where it was found abandoned and undamaged. The owner was very happy when his Lexus was soon returned to him.
