On a Saturday afternoon in May, this Chicago resident was hoping to take his Dodge Stratus for a cruise- until he got outside and found his car had been taken for a ride without him! Lucky for him that the LoJack® system installed in his vehicle doesn’t take weekends off, so local law enforcement was able to track his car down in less than two and half hours!

On May 25th, 2013, the Dodge’s owner contacted Chicago Police to report his vehicle stolen. Chicago PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into their state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Stratus, which was installed at Enterprise Car Sales in Chicago, IL.

Police in the 22nd District soon began picking up the homing signals from the Stratus on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  They tracked the vehicle to an area near 104th and Wentworth Ave on Chicago’s far south side where it was discovered parked and unoccupied. It was soon returned to its very grateful owners.
