In this case, California air and ground law enforcement agencies work together, using the LoJack® system to recover a stolen Toyota Corolla in only 17 minutes after activation.

On May 11th, 2013 the 2009 Corolla’s owner discovered that her vehicle missing from the parking lot of her apartment in San Leandro, CA.  San Leandro police verified the crime information and entered the vehicle information into their state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Toyota, which was installed at Haywood Toyota in Haywood, CA.

Mere minutes after activation, a helicopter from the East Bay Regional Parks police picked up the homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computers installed onboard. The helicopter pilot notified San Leandro PD with the vehicle’s location so ground units could recover it. The undamaged Corolla was soon returned to its relieved owner.
