Kern County, California Sheriff’s Department Police Recovers Saturn Vue Aided by the LoJack® System

One of the benefits of having a LoJack® device installed in your vehicle is that fact that you often get it back much faster when it’s stolen. Sometimes, the vehicle is retrieved so quickly that it’s amazing!

On April 10th, 2013, the owner of a Saturn Vue contacted the Bakersfield, California Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen. The Bakersfield PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into their state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Saturn, which was installed at Saturn of Monrovia, CA.

Just 14 MINUTES after activation, a deputy from the Kern County Sheriff’s Department picked up the homing signals from the stolen Saturn on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The deputy tracked the vehicle to a residential area. A juvenile female suspect, who was later found to be a runaway, was arrested for auto theft. The undamaged Vue was quickly returned to its owner.
