When you are purchasing a vehicle, it may seem that the LoJack® System is just one of a million options you are offered. You may choose to purchase it and then forget all about it…until the day that your car is stolen, and you realize its true value, as this San Diego resident found out recently.

On March 3, 2013, the owner of a 2008 Audi AA4 contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that her vehicle was stolen. Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into their state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Audi, which was installed at Audi Pacific in Torrance, CA.

In a short while, officers from the San Diego PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen Audi on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The officers tracked the vehicle to a residential neighborhood in San Diego, where they located the AA4 abandoned and undamaged. It was soon returned to its happy owner.
