On January 26, 2013, the owner of a 2005 Audi A4 contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that her vehicle was stolen from the 1200 block of 9th Avenue in the city of San Diego.

San Diego Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Audi AA4.

Within five minutes, officers from the San Diego Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Audi A4 on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officers tracked and found the vehicle in the 600 block of 8th Avenue in San Diego.

The owner was very happy when San Diego Police contacted her to retrieve the Audi, which was found abandoned and undamaged.  The vehicle was valued at approximately $17,025.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Audi AA4 on July 3, 2007 at Audi Mission Viejo in Mission Viejo, California.
