On January 30, 2013, the owner of a 2008 Ford Edge contacted the Chula Vista Police Department to report that her vehicle was stolen from the 2300 block of East Ridge Ct. in the city of Chula Vista.

Chula Vista Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Ford Edge.

Within fifteen minutes, officers from the San Diego Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Ford on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officers tracked and located the vehicle in the 1400 block of South 58th Street in San Diego.

The owner was very happy when San Diego Police contacted her to recover the vehicle, which was found abandoned and undamaged.  The vehicle was valued at approximately $20,750.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Ford Edge on February 10, 2009 at Fuller Ford in Chula Vista, California.
