On February 4, 2013, the owner of a 2011 Mercedes Benz C300 contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that her vehicle was stolen from her residence in the city of San Diego.

San Diego Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Mercedes Benz.

Within a few hours, a deputy from San Diego County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Mercedes Benz on the Police Tracking Computers installed in his patrol vehicle.  Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the deputy tracked the vehicle and found it parked in the street at the 6000 block of Cameron Court in San Diego.

The owner was very happy when San Diego Police contacted her to recover the vehicle which was found abandoned and undamaged.  The vehicle was valued at approximately $30,000.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Mercedes Benz C300 on June 12, 2012 at Honda Mission Valley in San Diego.
