In the late evening hours of January 28, 2013, the owner of 2008 Acura RDX discovered that his SUV was stolen from the street in from of his home in San Francisco.  San Francisco Police verified the crime information and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle.  LoJack is the only theft recovery system that is directly operated by law enforcement, and this interface is seamless and instantaneous.

Less than an hour after the automatic activation of the LoJack transponder in the victim’s stolen vehicle, San Francisco Police picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Acura with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  The LoJack PTC provides officers with on-board information which enables them to locate the stolen vehicle quickly and with an increased margin of safety.

San Francisco Police tracked the stolen Acura to the south side of San Francisco, where the stolen Acura was found concealed in a small alley.  The owner of the Acura was called to reclaim his undamaged vehicle.

The LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System was installed in this vehicle on December 26, 2007 in Colma, California at Acura of Serramonte. The vehicle was valued at approximately $26,000.
