On January 15, 2013, the owner of 2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser discovered that his SUV was stolen from his home in San Jose, California.
Officers with the San Jose Police verified the crime information and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle.  LoJack is the only theft recovery system that is directly operated by law enforcement and this interface is seamless and instantaneous.

A short while later, officers with the San Jose Police picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen SUV with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  The LoJack PTC provides officers with on-board information which enables them to locate the stolen vehicle quickly and with an increased margin of safety.

San Jose Police, following tracking cues from their on-board LoJack PTCs, located the stolen Toyota, abandoned and undamaged in a vacant warehouse in South San Jose.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in this vehicle on December 4, 2007 in Fremont California, at Fremont Toyota. The vehicle was valued at approximately $20,000.
