On December 14, 2012, the owner of a 2004 Nissan Titan contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen from Cedar Street in the city of San Diego.

San Diego Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Nissan  Titan.

Within fifteen minutes, officers from the San Diego Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Nissan Titan on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officers tracked the vehicle to the 1700 block of California Street in San Diego.

The owner was very happy when police contacted him to recover the Nissan, which was found abandoned and undamaged.  The vehicle was valued at approximately $18,325.00.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Nissan Titan on March 30, 2004 at Mossy Nissan in National City.
