On December 8, 2012, the owner of a 2005 Lexus RX330 contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of San Diego.

San Diego Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Lexus.

Within thirty minutes, officers from the La Mesa Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Lexus RX330 on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officers tracked the vehicle to a parking lot at Mohawk and Keeney Street in the city of La Mesa.

The owner was very happy when La Mesa Police contacted him to recover the vehicle, which was found abandoned and undamaged.  The vehicle was valued at approximately $20,725.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Lexus RX330 on December 13, 2004 at Lexus Kearny Mesa in San Diego, California.
