LoJack Helps San Diego Police with Recovery of Audi A4, Found Abandoned and Undamaged

On November 5, 2012, the owner of a 2013 Audi A4 contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that her vehicle wa stolen in the city of San Diego.

San Diego officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Audi.

Less than an hour later, officers from the San Diego Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Audi on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officers tracked the vehicle to a residential neighborhood in San Diego.   

The owner was very happy when San Diego Police contacted her to recover the vehicle, which was found abandoned and undamaged.  The vehicle was valued at approximately $36,000.
