On October 29, 2012, the owner of a 2008 Acura RDX contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that her vehicle was stolen from her residence on Quinn Avenue in the city of San Diego.

San Diego Police verified the theft and entered the Acura’s information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle.

Within minutes, officers from the San Diego Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Acura RDX on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officers tracked the vehicle to a residential neighborhood at the 7800 block of Avenida Navidad in San Diego.

The owner was very happy when San Diego Police contacted her to recover the vehicle, which was found abandoned and undamaged.  The vehicle was valued at approximately $20,000.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Acura RDX on March 10, 2012 at Kearny Mesa Acura in San Diego.
