On October 13, 2012 the owner of a 2003 Honda Civic contacted the Fresno Police Department to report that the vehicle had been stolen. The Fresno Police Department verified the theft and entered the Honda’s information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle.

Less than two hours later, an officer from the Fresno Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Honda on the Police Tracking Computer installed in his patrol vehicle. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computer, the officer tracked the Honda to the parking lot of a business near Blackstone and Harvard Avenues in central Fresno. The vehicle was found unoccupied and abandoned in the parking lot.

The vehicle was recovered intact and undamaged; it was released to the owner at the recovery scene.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the 2003 Honda Civic at Shack Findlay Honda in Henderson, Nevada in May of 2004. This vehicle is valued at $8,500.
