On September 26, 2012, the owner of 2007 Honda CRV discovered that her car had been stolen from in front of her home in San Jose, California.  San Jose Police verified the crime information and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Honda.  LoJack is the only theft recovery system that is directly operated by law enforcement and this interface is seamless and instantaneous.

Several hours later and 25 miles from where the Honda was stolen, officers from the Sunnyvale Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  The LoJack PTC provides officers with on-board information which permits them to locate the stolen vehicle quickly and with an increased margin of safety.

Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack PTCs, Sunnyvale Police tracked the stolen Honda to an apartment complex.  The driver of the Honda was arrested and the undamaged vehicle was impounded for evidence, to be returned to the owner after evidence processing.

The LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System was installed in this vehicle on December 1, 2006 at Capital Honda in San Jose California.
