On August 27, 2012 the owner of a 2004 Cadillac Escalade contacted the Vineland Police Department to report that the vehicle was stolen from in front of their home. The Vineland Police Department verified the theft and entered the Cadillac’s information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle.

A short time later, patrol officers from the Philadelphia Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen vehicle on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicle. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officers tracked the vehicle to Broad Street and Medary Avenue, where the Cadillac was located with one suspect inside. The suspect was arrested and the vehicle recovered.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the 2004 Cadillac Escalade on September 11, 2007 at North Bay Cadillac in Great Neck, New York.
