On July 28, 2012, the owner of a 2006 Lexus RX-330 contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen from the 2100 block of Park Boulevard in San Diego, California. San Diego Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle’s information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Lexus.

Within a few minutes, officers from the San Diego Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Lexus RX-350 on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officers located the vehicle just down the street from the theft location, in the 1800 block of Park Boulevard. The vehicle, valued at approximately $20,000, was found abandoned and undamaged.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Lexus RX-330 in March of 2009 at Lexus Kearny Villa in San Diego, California.
