LoJack Aids San Diego Police in Recovery of Stolen BMW 335I

On July 7, 2012, the owner of a 2007 BMW 335I contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in San Diego.San Diego Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle’s information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the BMW.

Within an hour, officers from the San Diego Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen BMW on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officers tracked the vehicle to a residential neighborhood in the 1100 block of Law Street in San Diego.

The owner was very happy when officers contacted him to recover the vehicle, which was found abandoned and undamaged.  The vehicle was valued at approximately $27,000.00.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the BMW 335I in August of 2009 at BMW South County in El Cajon, California.
