On June 17, 2012, the owner of a 2007 Lexus GS-450H contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that her vehicle was stolen from the driveway at her residence in San Diego. San Diego Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle’s information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Lexus.

A short while later, officers from the San Diego Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Lexus GS-450H on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officers tracked the vehicle to a residential neighborhood at the 3000 block of National Avenue in San Diego.

The owner was very pleased when San Diego officers contacted her to recover the vehicle, which was found abandoned and undamaged.  The vehicle was valued at approximately $25, 000.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Lexus GS-450H on August 2011 at Lexus San Diego in San Diego.
