LoJack Enables Quick Recovery of Stolen Scion by San Diego Police

On May 13, 2012, the owner of a 2008 Scion TC contacted the San Diego Police Department to report the vehicle stolen from San Diego.San Diego officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Scion.

A short while later, officers from the San Diego Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Scion on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officers tracked the vehicle to the 600 block of Elizabeth Street in San Diego.

The Scion was recovered abandoned and undamaged.  The vehicle was valued at approximately $13, 000.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Scion, TC in April of 2008 in Moreno Valley Moss/Scion Bros Toyota.
